Why it stands out
Where You Left Me turns a once six-gigabyte Unreal Engine walking simulator into a streamed browser experience built from a Gaussian-splat reconstruction of an old barn. The technology supports a personal narrated memory rather than appearing as a standalone graphics demo.
How it works
Move through the first-person barn environment while an English narrator reflects on growing up, life, and remembered impressions. The browser build streams roughly 100 MB, then adjusts the number of rendered splats to suit the device.
What caught our attention
The unusual strength is the relationship between compression and atmosphere: thousands of rendered camera views became a photorealistic scene that can open from a web page, while voice and music give that reconstructed space emotional direction.
Who it may suit
This is best for players who enjoy short, contemplative walking simulators and do not mind narration-led English. The creator estimates a maximum run of about ten minutes; mobile is supported, although iPhones cannot enter full-screen mode.
